What is Entrepreneurship? - News Boss

Recently, I was re-reading Eric Ries' Lean Startup and suddenly I wondered, what is entrepreneurship, and why has this word become so popular and used by so many people. Especially in the environment I'm working in, and the community I'm familiar with, this word is mentioned more than ever. So what is entrepreneurship? Who are the entrepreneurs? And translated into Vietnamese, should it be encapsulated with the word “”start-up spiritep" are not?

This article is mainly my personal opinion and point of view, for a moment I "suddenly wanted to write", so it may be different from what many other people think.

You are watching: What is Entrepreneurial

In my opinion, entrepreneurship should be translated as “spirit of doingincubate"and entrepreneurs are people"doincubate". Ownership here, not encapsulated in creating your own business, building an empire to change the world; Ownership can also be understood in the sense of actively mastering one's life, life and surroundings. I do not agree with the word "starting a business" because thus, entrepreneurship has limited itself in a single sense. : build your own career.

So who is an entrepreneur? I think it's very simple, the people who actively solve their own problems (frustration) first. After finding a solution for themselves, they - these masters - will share this solution with others, and from there, solve a big problem in society. So, entrepreneur, first of all proactive people who control their own problems.

Share a story I read when I was 10 years old in a book My mother bought me from Window of the Soul (I don't know why I was able to read this book at that time, maybe because my mother didn't want to let me read the manga, afraid of being chiseled). soul :P).

The following inscriptions were found on the tomb of an English pastor: When I was young, my imagination had no limits. I dream of being able to change the world. As I grow up and get a little older, I find that the world hasn't changed at all. So I narrowed down my dream and decided to change my country. But it seems that my country has not moved at all.

When I got married, I tried my best to change my family and my loved ones. But they had no idea about it. And now, dying in bed, I suddenly realized: only when I can change myself can I change my family. With their encouragement, I will live a more useful life for the country. And who knows, maybe then I will change the whole world.

It seems that the concept of entrepreneurship and entrepreneur has been over-rated and more beautiful than necessary. I think very few world-famous entrepreneurs, or Steve Jobs himself, consider themselves entrepreneurs, even though they are the ones who have really changed the world. Also because it is used excessively, many people see it as a movement to express themselves, especially young people, using entrepreneurship as an excuse to explain their failure, or abdication of responsibility for school/work/family, etc.

Hot: What is Implement and the structure of the word Implement in English sentences

In my personal opinion, the following people are not owners (or entrepreneurs):

  • Those of you who self-identify as entrepreneurs when you just want to go into life. You haven't determined who you are, what you want, what your problem is. When you don't know what your problem is. , how can you solve that problem, let alone change the world?

  • Those who dropped out or didn't really focus on their studies in college. Have you found a solution to a burning problem like Bill Gates, or just because you want to follow your passion without thinking how it will affect the future?

  • Those of you who quit your job because you don't like to work for others, like to do it yourself, but you yourself do not do well and have not had any achievements to contribute to the company. The vast majority, in my opinion, this is a sign of laziness.

  • Those of you who are not afraid to fail but are not ready to take responsibility for those failures, and then have to bother your parents again; Ultimately, it's your parents and loved ones who shoulder the responsibility, both time and money.

  • Those of you can read aloud the famous sayings of outstanding entrepreneurs, but have never applied in your life or your life experience has nothing. I call it "slashing".

  • Those of you who are not active or master in basic personal issues such as balancing expenses, helping your family, balancing study with pursuing your passion, etc. or in work such as working seriously, effective, has many improvements, etc.…

So, in your opinion, who is the entrepreneur?

  • All the small businesses in markets, shops, grocery stores, street vendors, etc. Because they can control the livelihood of themselves and their families, and can manage it. their business – thereby contributing to the community, the country. If you have the opportunity to talk to them (for example, when going out for a snack), you will hear stories about how they make a living, and those are valuable practical lessons.

  • Students from distant provinces, with difficult circumstances, can still balance between living, studying and working without having to depend on their parents.

  • Office workers who have the will to progress, are creative and improve the way they work, contribute to the development of the company.

  • and many other examples… that I was fortunate to meet and talk to.

So, if you think about it this way, a lot of people are entrepreneurs (and a lot of people aren't). I hope this concept will gradually be understood more correctly, to avoid misleading thinking, and at the same time to encourage the spirit, discover and nurture the young entrepreneurs. That's why I like the battle so much. Mattel's recent translation - Barbie Entrepreneur - to encourage girls' entrepreneurship from an early age. Just as simple as playing with goods, making creative products from clay, being independent from a young age, etc... are also ways to nurture the spirit of mastery 🙂

If asked, am I an entrepreneur? Not yet. Because I still have too many problems, and still have not found a solution for me personally. Now I need to focus on solving my problems and changing myself, entrepreneurship, wait for later 😉
