Good morning, where are marketers and search marketers headed?

Keynote speech SMX Next this year (delivered by you) dedicated to advancing your search marketing career (whether you're a manager or a specialist, an executive or a consultant). The job market is wild right now. More companies are investing in SEO and PPC after the pandemic proved online to be the place to go – whatever your business is.

On the consulting side, at the start of the pandemic, I've had many clients pull back from investing in SEO because they weren't sure what was going on and what the future looked like. However, in a month or so, I received a huge influx of leads as businesses realized they DID the SEO and PPC game just to appear at the starting line. It became the bet on the table.

That fact only continues to grow. And marketers are the beneficiaries. But what does it mean for career yours, especially as the big players continue to take away a lot of our control and leverage? What skills are important to us as we continue to advance in our professional development? Here are just a few that I think will be game-changing in 2022:

  • Work on search marketing soft skills

  • Practice Negotiation Anywhere

  • Choose your career path with purpose

InJobs will launch in China. As LinkedIn sunsets, Microsoft plans to launch InJobs, a new standalone job app for China, later this year. Unlike LinkedIn, InJobs will not have a social feed or the ability to share posts or articles.

Why do we care. LinkedIn's shutdown in China is likely to hinder B2B businesses that have partners there or rely on the platform to communicate with potential partners. In addition, advertisers on LinkedIn will no longer have access to users in China. However, it is likely that InJobs will provide some of these features.
