So, what is SMD 0603, 0805, 1206?
It refers to the package size of the component and the size is length x width. The units used can be inches or millimeters. In general, the resistance and capacitance of an SMD are both used to describe the dimensions of components. A total of 4 digits indicates a set of 2 digits.
0603: 0.06"x0.03" or 60x30 mils or 1.6x0.8mm (Note: 1mil = one thousandth of an inch)
0805: 0.08"x0.05" or 80x50 mils or 2.0x1.25mm
1206: 0.12"x0.06" or 120×60 mils or 3.2×1.6mm

Capacitor Specification
There are different types of capacitors, mainly made up of different materials, such as ceramic capacitors, tantalum capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, etc. 0.1uF and above are considered large capacitance values. Large capacitor with anode and cathode (identifying capacitor)
In terms of SMD capacitors, unlike resistors, it can only be seen from the specs on the tape.
In principle, however, from the mass of the SMD capacitive element, the larger the mass, the larger the capacitance value.
The on-band specification will see a similar value for 104.103, the size of its table capacitance value. 104, same as shown above, 10x 10 4th power pF => 100000 pF = 100nF = 0.1uF. Similarly, 330 is expressed as 33pF.

For SMD's IC, SOIC (Small Outline IC), such as SOIC-8, SOIC-16
The details of the IC, the different encapsulation technologies will be derived (that is, the Die's packages will be different), eg.
TQFP (Thin Flat Pack 4) 100 or 144 pins。
PQFP (Plastic Quad Flat Package) 208 or 240 pins。
BGA (Ball Grid Array) 256 to 1000 + pins。
