Emailing can make you feel like a crazy high school student — when should you send a note? Have they read it yet? Should you send out marketing-related messages before lunch? (Okay, maybe not the last one.)
Thankfully, Boomerang, a browser extension that allows anyone to schedule emails, has released a Infographics which revealed some secrets gleaned from analyzing 5 million emails. Obviously, you're not the only one who over-analyzes your inbox.
In fact, people are spending more time on email than ever before. The average user receives 147 messages per day and spends an average of two and a half hours on their email account. Most of those emails are deleted or archived, but Boomerang found that the average person receives 12 important emails a day, taking an hour and a half a business day.
Despite what you might think, 6 a.m. is the magic hour for emailing, so if you have an important message to deal with, it's a good idea to send it before you head to the office. If you're not an early riser, emailing at lunch is also a good way to get a quick response.
Check out the infographic below for more helpful information on emailing habits — and then go clean your inbox before it takes over your life.
