It is the quietest time of the year.
As people use up their vacation days, a small number of people stay at work in the days after Christmas and before New Year's Day.
If you were one of the few people working that week, you might feel stuck. Email not answered. No response came in, so you can't move that post or video to the next stage. New projects lie dormant, waiting for the necessary stakeholders to return.
Surfing and doomscrolling just fill up so much time. What is a content marketer supposed to do with these no-meeting days? Instead, plan out your projected downtime — whether it's now or some other time of year — to improve your skills and get the work done for you. like never had time to do.
I asked the #CMWorld Slack community and Twitter followers to share what they plan to do at work when few others are around.
Take time for professional development
Danielle Love “Slow times are great for education,” says content marketing strategist. “This is a great time to see those Content Marketing World lessons I missed. I also have an email folder of webinars that I've signed up for but haven't had a chance to watch live. ”

While that can keep Ali busy, she finds it helpful to slow down time to think about an idea or strategy otherwise you won't have time to work. “I have a backup list,” she said.

Content Strategist Brian Piper Use the time to research conferences he might want to attend or where he might want to give a presentation. But he didn't stop there. He looks for communities new and online events and touches the base with people in his network that he hasn't contacted in a while.
Content Community Builder Vanessa Cariba also do the same thing. “I want to say hello to my networks or look for new alliances to meet on Zoom. As a freelancer, networking is the bridge of opportunity,” she says.

Content marketers know the value of data and analytics , but the time to work on them often disappears. It's useful, technology never stops. You can access data even when no one is working.

For example, she needs time to figure out why she downloaded the same report 12 times instead of remembering where she put it.
“I think about target for next year and how can I achieve it,” Cathy said, noting that she also intends to pounce on the 3-foot pile of books waiting for her to read.
