How to change the computer name through the Settings application

In the above command, replace Current Identify with today’s computer name and New Identify with the new name you want to change then press Enter to execute.
Step 5: The current command to be executed, look for “0” Not count for “ReturnValue”. In case the command window is displayed ‘5’ ownership means you have not launched Command Immediate with Admin privileges. When the ‘ReturnValue’ field is ‘0’, close the ‘Terminal’ window and restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
Step 6: After you restart your computer, the new computer name will be applied.
How to rename a computer through PowerShell
You can also change the computer name with the shell command in Home windows PowerShell. Launch Home windows Terminal with administrative rights as above to open a Powershell command window. Next, enter the following command in the PowerShell window.
Rename-Pc -NewName “New Identify”
In the above command, replace New Identify with the new computer name to set and press Enter to execute the command.
After the command is executed, you will be asked to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Close the Terminal window and restart the computer.
