Just before we start, let’s make sure that the Xbox Games App is working fine on the Windows PC.
1]Check if you have the correct Game Pass
If you already have an Xbox Game pass for your Xbox console and you’re trying to use the same computer, it won’t work. You should upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to enjoy all the benefits of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass on both your Xbox One console and Windows 10 PC.
If you have any prepaid time on Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass when you join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, we’ll apply that period to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, up to 36 months.
2]Clear the cache of the Xbox Game Pass app
- Go to Settings > Apps and then click on Xbox Apps.
- Click Advanced and then click Reset or Repair
- Close the app, relaunch and check if you can install Xbox Game Pass Game on Windows PC
Microsoft has renamed the original Xbox App to the Xbox Console Companion app to manage everything on Xbox. The new Xbox app is the primary destination for players to connect with friends, browse games and experience Xbox Game Pass for PC.
3]Upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10
I’m sure many of you have updated to Windows 10 v1903, but if you haven’t already, Game Pass for Windows 10 needs v1903 for the game to work properly. So if you want to use Game Pass, make sure to upgrade.
4]Gine admin privileges for the game
Part of the game may need administrator privileges to install and work properly. I would suggest that you always install the game with admin privileges. If you’re not an admin user, make sure to ask someone to install the game for you. A local admin account works fine.
5]Check out the Windows Store App Troubleshooter
Windows 10 v1903 gives recommendations when you have any problem with any application or with Windows. Make sure to go to Windows 10 Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshooter. Run the recommended option or run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.
6]Fix the game if it keeps crashing or not working
Not only do you need to make sure you have compatible drivers, but you also need to try the repair feature for Windows Store apps.
Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features. Select the inactive game, then select Advanced Options under the game name. Then click Fix.
7]Can’t sign in to Xbox Live
Most XboxLive-enabled games from third-party developers need the end user to accept a consent dialog before they can sign in to the game. These dialog boxes can appear behind your decorator, which makes them almost invisible. You need to use the Alt-Tab key to bring them up first to accept and play them manually.
Apart from these, if you are unable to download the game, get an error when trying to download the game, or are not ready to launch the game, there are several factors involved. Make sure you have a stable Internet connection, enough storage space on your computer, etc.
We hope these tips were easy to follow and you were able to install Game Pass Games on your Windows 10 PC.
