How to downgrade iOS / iPadOS 14 to a previous stable version

How to downgrade iOS 14 beta or iPadOS 14 beta

first. On your computer, download the latest iOS 13 firmware for your device from the website IPSW.me – Just select your device and select the latest version of iOS 13 and you will see the download firmware button.

2. Turn off the feature “Find iPhone / iPad” (Find My iPhone / iPad) on your device in Settings → [tên bạn] → Find → Find iPhone / iPad (Settings → [your name] → Find My → Find My iPhone / iPad).

3. Connect your device to your computer using the included Lightning cable. IPad Pro users can use the included USB-C cable or adapter if your computer doesn’t have a USB-C port.

4. Open iTunes on the computer up or open the Finder app on your Mac by long-pressing the Finder icon in the Dock, then selecting New Finder Window from the pop-up menu.

5. In iTunes, click on your device icon near the top left corner of the window and then tab Summary (Summary) in the left sidebar. For Finder, click on your device in the left sidebar.

6. In iTunes or Finder, click the button Restore from backup (Restore Backup…) while your hand Hold down the Shift key on a Windows computer or the Options key on Mac.

7. Now select the firmware file you downloaded in step 1.

Now your computer will start to extract the content from the firmware file (may take a while) before proceeding to restore your device using that firmware. Always keep the iOS device connected after it reboots and wait for the device to complete the restore process.

Do not turn off or restart your computer while the restore is going on.

8. The final step is to restore data from a previously created backup file on your computer or in iCloud.

Important information about restoring from backup

If you remembered backing up your iPhone or iPad before updating to iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 beta, you can restore from that backup. If not, you will need to restore your device from a previous backup or start over as a new device.

You cannot restore an iOS device from a backup created on a higher version of iOS. If you forget to back up your device before upgrading to beta, you can still downgrade to the previous stable version, but you won’t be able to restore settings, data and other content from iOS 14, or iPadOS 14.

In other words, it is only possible to restore an iOS 13 backup on your iPhone after you downgrade to iOS 13.5.1. You cannot restore an iOS 14 beta backup to iOS 13.5.1.
