How to jailbreak iOS 13.0 - 13.5 using unc0ver

The unc0ver jailbreak tool recently released a major update to support all devices running iOS 13.5, including iPhone 11 Pro / 11 Pro Max and iPad Pro 2020.

If you have jailbroken with checkra1n

If you have jailbroken your device with checkra1n before then I recommend that you stay the same, no need to switch to unc0ver because in your opinion checkra1n is more stable than unc0ver .

You should only use unc0ver in case you do not have a Mac or Linux to install checkra1n.

However, if you still want to use unc0ver, the tweaks you install will not be lost when switching from checkra1n to unc0ver, so you can rest assured.

How to jailbreak iOS 13.0 - 13.5 using unc0ver on a computer

If you have a computer, I recommend that you use your computer to install unc0ver on your device, because you will master the installation process, you can always install without fear of certificate revocation. right on the phone.

In this tutorial, I will use AltServer software on my computer to install AltStore (a third-party application store for iOS) , then you can use AltStore to install the unc0ver .ipa file on your device. .

AdvantagesWeakness
- Not afraid of being withdrawn by Apple- Must do more steps
- Easily reinstall unc0ver if desired- A computer is required to install AltStore
- Can manually renew for 7 more days if application expires- Must be renewed near the expiration date (7 days)

Prepare

  • Computer or laptop running Windows 10 or Windows 7 (Windows 10 recommended) .
  • AltServer software (Can be downloaded and installed at: https://altstore.io/ ) , unzip and install as usual.
  • ICloud software on Windows (AltStore cannot work without it. Download at: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283 )
  • iTunes (If you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store, you must remove the version and install the download from Apple's website - 64-bit Win version - 32-bit Win version )

Perform

NOTE: If you already know how to use AltStore, then you can go to Step 16 to install un0ver jailbreak with it.

After you have downloaded and installed the software in the preparation step, you can install AltStore on your device as follows:

1. Connect your iPhone, iPad to the computer. If this is the first time you connect your device to a computer, iTunes may ask you to click "Trust" on the device as well as on the computer.

2. Click the up arrow icon in the Windows taskbar, then left-click the AltServer icon .

3. Hover over the line Install AltStore and select your device 's name .

4. Enter your Apple ID account and click Install . If you are afraid of losing your account, you can create a new one to import here.

5. Click OK in the message that appears.

6. AltStore installation process will start, you wait about 10 seconds to receive notification of successful installation (right image) .

Now, check your device to see if the AltStore app (green) appears .

However, when you click on the application, you will see a message saying "Developer untrusted " (Untrusted Enterprise Developer) .

7. To open a new app installed, you have to Settings - General Settings - Device Management (Settings - General - Device Management) , click on the email address your Apple ID, choose Trust "..." after press Trust (Trust) again.

8. Visit unc0ver.dev using the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad, and click Open in AltStore , then press to the Open (Open) in the newspaper thogn out.

9. AltStore will open to install unc0ver on your device, now log in with your Apple ID to get the certificate of application installation. You can use an extra Apple ID for peace of mind.

10. After successful login, AltStore will begin installing unc0ver. You should see the unc0ver application appear in the list of installed applications (Installed) .

11. Return to the home screen, open the unc0ver app and press the blue Jailbreak button to start jailbreak.

After your device has finished jailbreak, click OK to respring the device. Then you will see Cydia icon appear on the main screen. That's it, you can go there to download your favorite tweaks already.

Note

Maybe after you pressed the Jailbreak button in unc0ver and your computer respring is finished, the computer has Cydia but when it opens, it just pops out. That means your device is no longer in jailbreak state, which is also the cause of Cydia being thrown.

A simple way to check if your device has been successfully jailbroken, open the unc0ver application. If you see the blue Jailbreak button appear => your device has not been jailbroken successfully . If you see the "Re-jailbreak" button appear, your device has been successfully jailbroken .

How to renew AltStore and unc0ver

AltStore has the ability to renew itself as well as add add-on applications (such as unc0ver) either automatically or manually .

For AltStore to automatically renew before it expires after 7 days, you need to meet the following three conditions:

  • Your device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network with the computer on which you have AltServer installed .
  • You must regularly open AltStore for several days (it can be opened 2-3 times a day) so that the renewal in the background is not ignored by iOS.
  • You have turned on the option "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" in iTunes.

If you meet the three conditions above, AltStore will automatically be renewed in the background when your device is near a computer with AltServer installed and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. However, it will only renew when your application is 5 days or less.

If you want to renew manually , you also need two conditions like the one above: your device must be near a computer with AltServer installed, as well as a shared Wi-Fi network and have two sync options enabled. goods in iTunes. Then in the AltStore app, you switch to the " My Apps " tab and click on the number of days remaining in the app to renew it.

If you get the error "Could not find AltServer" , your device is not near the computer with AltServer installed and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Install unc0ver right on the device

Currently, I see many of you (including myself) install unc0ver directly on the device, then when jailbreak will get the error as shown below. Requires installation directly from unc0ver.dev website to jailbreak, it seems the author has blocked jailbreak when installing unc0ver from other sites already.

I will update more when the information is correct.

How to fix some jailbreak errors

Note: All latest unc0ver versions are released for bug fixes and performance purposes, so make sure you have downloaded / updated unc0ver the latest version to avoid errors during jailbreak.

+ Error restarting when pressing Jailbreak: Try each way if not

Option 1:

  6. Click Jailbreak.

If that doesn't work, repeat the steps above and try again at least 5-6 times before moving on to method 2.

Method 2: It sounds a bit nonsense, but some people on Reddit have tried and succeeded.

  2. Open unc0ver and click on the circle icon in the upper left corner to switch unc0ver to a bright interface.
  3. Click Jailbreak again.
