Review Motorola RAZR 2019: Unique but not handy

Motorola, similar to Nokia, once had a feature market dominance, but at the moment, is in the smartphone market.
Their Android smartphones don't impress when there's no breakthrough technology, no unique Motorola substance, and no good price.
Recently, however, they decided to catch the folding screen trend with the Motorola RAZR 2019, and bring back the design language of the legendary RAZR. But this combination doesn't seem to be very reasonable!

#first. About Motorola RAZR hardware

It has a 6.2-inch main screen, and has a resolution of 876 × 2172 pixels, OLED panel, using a notch design. When folded the machine has an extra 2.7 inch OLED screen on the outside.
It has only one rear camera, with a resolution of 16MP. The front camera of the device will have a resolution of 5MP.
In addition, the device only has 1 sim, uses a USB Type C charging port, removes the 3.5mm jack, and does not have support for memory card slots at all.

#2. Design of the Motorola RAZR

It keeps the design of Motorola RAZR V3, ie a folding Feature Phone. But instead, the T9 keyboard and LCD screen are replaced with OLED touch screens.
Simply put, this is a smartphone that folds the screen vertically. This makes the screen really long.
It still has a protruding chin to hold the upper half when folded. This is the part without the screen, meaning that you will respond to the navigation bar with the appearance of a finger block at the bottom of the screen. A design that brings a sense of inhibition to the user when used.

To make the most of the screen space in the open state, Motorola uses a notch design for the front camera cluster. Disaster design for such a long aspect ratio.
The rear camera is located on the back of the upper half, and is located in the external secondary display. The fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the lower half, too low compared to the user's fingers.
Instead of using the folding screen design to create a Tablet hybrid smartphone, Motorola RAZR 2019 uses it to fold into a box. However, this box is too thick for the convenience of users. Currently the device is only available in black version.

The device only has a Snapdragon 710 chip, along with a RAM capacity of 6GB, and a Rom of 128 GB.
The battery of the device is also only 2510mAh, supports 15W fast charging.

When launched, the device will be pre-installed Android 10 operating system, on its own customizable interface.

# 5. Review of Motorola RAZR

Innovation and nostalgia, I think I should choose only one. Motorola will choose both will be like this machine.

Agree that this design of Motorola RAZR 2019 is unique and very legendary, but looking at usability is different.
First: This is a design with almost no benefits to the user. It does not bring a good grip feeling, does not bring a bigger screen, even inhibits the user during use, ....
Next: Trade too much for a design that can be folded up and down symmetrically and perfectly, Motorola has exchanged a lot of things. The first is about the size of the camera cluster.
Next is the capacity of the battery. Then came the chip, the 3.5mm jack, and so on. In short, this is not a machine that serves the basic needs of users.
Finally: With the price of $ 1500, if you return to Vietnam, it is likely that the device will be as expensive as the Galaxy Fold, with far inferior quality.
From all of that, I think the Motorola RAZR 2019 is just a fan machine.
